That unsettled feeling in our stomachs when we are pushed outside our comfort zones and forced to try new things is surely the result of some evolutionary adaptation meant to keep us on our toes and away from complacency. While this uneasy-ness was no doubt important in keeping us safe from impending doom before our current levels of civilization, it may actually be keeping us from our best selves now.
Walking into a gym is difficult. It can be scary to feel judged and admonished by the eyes of others. It is still hard, even as the owner of a CrossFit gym, to walk into a new affiliate or visit a facility that is foreign to me. It can be especially hard for those who are trying to make their first reappearance into the fitness scene and are already outside their comfort zone just thinking about a challenging workout, let alone finally walking through the gym doors and committing to embarking on the journey to a healthier and fitter lifestyle. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

So, what do our goal setting sessions consist of? Each session is roughly 30 minutes of 1-on-1 discussion between you and one of our coaches where we help to establish realistic short term fitness and longer term lifestyle goals. Then, we go one step deeper and identify why those goals are really important to you, and what is truly holding you back from becoming a better version of yourself. The last part of the session is to determine if which, if any, of the services we provide at CrossFit Little Creek are the right option for you given where you are on your fitness odyssey. The goal setting sessions are then repeated every 90 days to ensure accountability, and evaluate what adjustments may need to be made as progress continues.
